The Sydney University Football Club (SUFC) fields a women’s rugby program that participates in 7s, 10s, and XVs formats. The Women’s XV team competes in the Sydney Women’s Rugby Union (SWRU) Competition, contesting the prestigious Jack Scott Cup, while the 7s and 10s teams play in tournaments throughout spring and summer
The club caters to players across all skill levels, from newcomers to elite athletes, providing development opportunities within multiple divisions and competitions managed by the SWRU, a body established in 1995 to foster women’s rugby in Sydney

Sydney University women’s rugby has a remarkable record in local competitions. Their Gold team has maintained dominance in the Premier competition, including undefeated regular seasons, Grand Final appearances, and multiple premierships between 2014 and 2024
